How remapping works on a diesel Volvo XC
Nothing is bolted on in a diesel remap. The ECU's stored maps for injection quantity, rail pressure and turbo boost are rewritten within safe limits, and because diesels make power through torque, that is where the improvement is most obvious.
Volvo XC 60 D5 185 against other XC engines
Ranked by power gain against the other diesel XC engines (6 in total), the 60 D5 185 is 3rd, 2 bhp above the XC diesel average of 40 bhp.
Across our whole catalogue the average diesel remap adds 34 bhp and 73 Nm, so this engine's 42 bhp and 95 Nm sits at or above that benchmark.
